Kunay House presents: “The Master and Margarita” — a Russian classic that brought Russians and Turks together

Kunay House continues to surprise and push the boundaries of Russian film distribution in Turkey. This time, we decided to present a film that would appeal not only to Russian-speaking audiences but also to Turks. Our choice fell on the cult work of Mikhail Bulgakov — “The Master and Margarita.”
As it turned out, there are an incredible number of Bulgakov fans in Turkey who admire his timeless novel. The box office results confirm this: 50% of viewers were Turkish cinemagoers. This is an important indicator proving that Russian films can successfully resonate not only with compatriots but also with Turkish audiences.

The director preserved the central themes of the novel while adding a modern visual aesthetic, allowing viewers to rediscover this complex and multifaceted world. The film captivates with powerful performances, stunning visuals, and loyalty to the spirit of the original work.

“The Master and Margarita” achieved impressive success in Turkish theaters:
Viewers: 8,352 people
Duration of run: 4 weeks

What is especially gratifying is that 50% of the screenings were filled with Turkish audiences. This proves that Russian films have a much broader appeal than expected.
